Cable loop calibration system for Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory
نویسندگان
چکیده
A cable loop source calibration system is developed for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory, a 20 kton spherical liquid scintillator neutrino experiment. This capable of deploying radioactive sources into different positions detector in vertical plane with few-cm position accuracy. The design and performance prototype are reported this paper.

Solving the Solar Neutrino Problem 2 Km Underground — the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) is capable of measuring simultaneously the flux of electron-type neutrinos and the total flux of all active flavours of neu-trinos originating from the Sun. A model-independent test of neutrino flavour transformation was performed by comparing these two measurements. Assuming an undistorted neutrino energy spectrum, this transformation has been definitivel...
متن کاملRobotic Platform for Monitoring Underground Cable Systems
Accurate, real-time information about the aging status of the power distribution cable network can save the power industry millions of dollars lost due to line failures and premature replacement of cables. Hence, a novel, semiautonomous robotic sensor platform has been developed for monitoring underground, power distribution cable systems. A segmented, legged modular configuration allows the ro...
متن کاملThe Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory is a second-generation water Cherenkov detector designed to determine whether the currently observed solar neutrino de"cit is a result of neutrino oscillations. The detector is unique in its use of D 2 O as a detection medium, permitting it to make a solar model-independent test of the neutrino oscillation hypothesis by comparison of the chargedand neutral-curre...

متن کاملNeutrino Observations from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
a The first neutrino observations from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory are presented from preliminary analyses. Based on energy, direction and location, the data in the region of interest appear to be dominated by 8 B solar neutrinos, detected by the charged current reaction on deuterium and elastic scattering from electrons, with very little background. Measurements of radioactive backgrounds...
